Destined: ObiKin

I love to read, and if I didn't, I don't know what I'd do with all my time (I say that like I have so much extra free time). But I love reading. I've been broaching out into different genres lately, however, especially in published fiction -- one cannot consume fanfic alone, much as I'd like to -- and fortunately! I've not been too disappointed in my purchases, except an anthology that I bought, which I was even more disappointed by Because I Bought It. I usually love anthologies, because they're short and sweet, but I guess I'm more used to longer form fiction again, and so anthologies are out in my mind.

I got my hands on a copy of the annotated Revenge of The Sith anniversary edition and ooooooh my god, I crash out emotionally every time I read it. I've been reading it a chapter at a time to help savor it, and I still die every time. That being said, lighter fiction too is still fun. I bought Assistant to the Villain which wasn't too bad! I feel like the main drive of the plot came in too late, and so made the climax too late, which made the cliffhanger all too predictable. The fact that the opening of the next book immediately solves the cliffhanger within two SHORT chapters kind of made me mad? But it's also a booktok book, so. I guess I can't expect too much? And it was still entertaining, just not well paced in my opinion. I hope the pacing improves in the next three books, because Hope Abides Above All, but if it doesn't improve... morale may be lost and the series will be DNF'ed. Which makes me sad, because I hate DNFing stuff, but at the same time -- if it doesn't spark joy, I will no longer tolerate it.

I've made more progress on my white experimental cowl and the rainbow cowl. The star sweater is not in the time out pile like it was before, but I will be putting it on the back burner for a bit until the blanket has progressed more. When I finish more of the blanket, and when I have written more myself, I will pick up the sweater again. Hopefully, it will be just a month, not several like last time. Maybe I'll put an even in my calendar to remind myself? That could work.
